The Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) is a federal law that imposes requirements on operators of websites and online services directed to children under 13, or that knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Jaraty is specifically designed for use in K-12 classrooms, including by children under 13. Our compliance approach is straightforward: we do not collect personal information from children at all.
Because Jaraty does not collect personal information from children, verifiable parental consent is not required under COPPA. However, we encourage schools and teachers to inform parents about the digital tools used in the classroom.
Jaraty tools are designed to be used under the direction of a teacher or educator. In the school context, COPPA allows schools to act as agents for parents in consenting to the collection of children's information for educational purposes. Since Jaraty collects no personal information, this provision is not invoked, but we note it for completeness.
Jaraty does not share any data with third parties, including advertisers, analytics companies, or data brokers. There are no advertising SDKs, social media trackers, or data collection tools embedded in any Jaraty product.
